HVC choses for sustainable innovation with two new electric rear loaders
HVC is a public energy and waste management company representing 52 municipalities and eight water boards. Together, they work towards a single, clear goal: a clean and sustainable world. To support this goal, HVC recently purchased two new Magnum GPM rear loaders , build on an electric Volvo-chassis.
This time, the rear loader is delivered without lifting device, but equipped with a rounded collapsible rave rail that also functions as a crushing bar. This sophisticated design makes loading bags and loose waste not only more efficient but also more ergonomic. For increased safety, the compaction mechanism is only activated at the push of a button, following the insertion movement. The reinforced body floor, fitted with additional wear plates on both the floor and the side walls, increases robustness and significantly extends its service life.
The new rear loaders will enter service in the Velsen and Lelystad regions. The chassis, supplied by LVS., concerns a Volvo FM Electric with low entry cab, which contributes to quieter, cleaner and more comfortable collection. In addition, it ensures Groeneveld TWIN grease lubrication system for optimal operation and a longer service life of the superstructure.
The end result: a sustainable, safe and innovative solution, achieved thanks to excellent cooperation between all parties involved.
